Georges St Pierre confident that his next title defense, against John hendricks, at UFC 167, will be another display of superiority on his part. The Canadian, undefeated in 11 fights, believes he has an advantage on all counts against his challenger, known for his knockout power and impressive wrestling credentials.
In an interview published on the official UFC website, GSP exuded confidence. “I'm very excited to fight John hendricks. He's the number one contender at the moment and a lot of people believe he has what it takes to beat me, but I believe I'm better than him in everything”, said the welterweight champion.
“I'm the best in the world, I believe that. And I'm going to show it to everyone again. I can wrestle with him, I'm stronger. I will put your wrestling and jiu-jitsu to the test”, added the Canadian.
St. Pierre recognizes Hendricks' qualities, having defeated him only once in 16 fights as a professional. However, for him, his skills will speak louder in the Octagon.
“I respect your strength, but I'm not afraid of it. People don't realize that I'm the best at not getting hit. And I can handle being hit”, he commented. “It's a fine line between being confident and arrogant, but I am confident. He is also quite confident, so let's clash and find out who is right,” he concluded.
The fight between St. Pierre and Hendricks will be the main event of UFC 167, which will take place this Saturday, in Las Vegas (USA).
