The injuries came back to haunt the Jungle Fight. The 61st edition of the show, scheduled for the 23rd, in Campos dos Goytacazez, lost the main protagonist of the night. Mario Israel, the show's bantamweight champion, suffered an injury and will not defend his title in front of Renato Moicano. In his place was Jonas Bilharinho, who would do the co-main event against Alberto “Striker” Pantoja. The fight will be valid for the division's interim belt.
With their careers built within the Jungle Fight, the fighters duel for the interim title and their respective unbeaten records. While “Moicano” doesn’t know what defeat means for six fights, Bilharinho has won three straight in the organization.
After the changes to the card, Magno “Magu” and Rogério “Karranca” will face each other in the lightweight division (70kg). Another highlight of the night will be the duel between Gabriel Silva and Patrick Tavares in the bantamweight division (61kg). Brother of Erick silva, former Jungle champion and currently in the UFC, Gabriel is looking for his second consecutive victory in the tournament.
