With an eye on his former welterweight throne, Douglas Lima faces a dangerous rival at Bellator 283, this Friday

The weekend is a decisive commitment for Brazil in the Bellator 283. This Friday (22), in Tacoma (USA), Douglas lima makes his first appearance in the 2022 season in an attempt to regain his status as a challenger for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.). Main star of the event, the former champion faces the dangerous jason jackson in the main fight.

Owner of the welterweight belt in 2014 and 2019, Lima will not climb into the circular cage just with an eye on the division's throne. A highlight of the organization, the athlete also needs to win to end a streak of three defeats.

In the co-main fight, the highlight is Sidney Outlaw. A lightweight athlete (up to 70,3kg), the combatant was scheduled to face the champion Patricky Pitbull by the group title. The Brazilian, however, ended up getting injured, but the American continued in the event, now having as his opponent the debutant Tofiq Musayev.

Cousin of the legendary Khabib, Usman Nurmagomedov is back. A promising lightweight, the Russian seeks to maintain his unbeaten record in his career and, in Bellator 283, will be Chris Gonzalez's opponent.

The fight that opens the second half of the event will feature an athlete from Brazil. Ex-UFC, Marcelo Golm will face Davion Frankling and try to maintain 100% success in the company. The clash takes place at heavyweight (up to 120,2kg).

MMA veteran, Vanessa Porto will be the first Tupiniquim to climb into the circular cage this Friday. The flyweight division (up to 56,7kg) will share the octagon with Veta Arteaga.

Even though he has fluctuated in his last appearances at Bellator, Lima continues to have prestige in the company. A standout among the welterweights, the Brazilian is trying for redemption and, to do so, faces a high-level opponent.
