Brazilian promise in the UFC strawweight division (up to 52,1kg), Luana pinheiro decided to innovate. Through the BitWage, the fighter now becomes the first Latin American fighter in the world to receive her payments in Bitcoin, 'electronic money'. Through her consultancy, the combatant explains the project and guarantees that she is confident about investing in the 'futuristic' payment model.
“I don’t think I will have any problems with the Bitcoin falling or rising. If it wasn’t volatile, it wouldn’t go up either,” she said.
To explain the decision to adopt cryptocurrency as a form of income, Pinheiro used his experience in martial arts to point out his option.
“It takes an average of 10 to 15 years for an individual to obtain a black belt in jiu-jitsu in Brazil. So my time preference here is long, if not longer. Everything else is just 'noise' to me, and the lower the price, the more Bitcoin I will be able to guarantee it in the future”, he stated.
The possibility that Luana will receive her wages in Bitcoin there was an intermediary. The company BitWage will be responsible for managing the Brazilian company’s financial transactions.

At 28, Luana pinheiro has charted a successful trajectory in mixed martial arts. Today, the fighter has 11 appearances in the sport, with 10 victories. For Ultimate, the combatant has two commitments, having won on both occasions.
