Almost two months after the harsh criticism made by the MMA legend Royce gracie to the new generations of his family, his cousin Renzo went public to refute them. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, Renzo stated that, instead of making negative comments, Royce should help more in the development of younger people who carry on the family name.
“Instead of making a negative comment about the Gracie family, you have to help the Gracie family. You have to help produce new champions, spending your time on it. I don’t remember Royce doing that,” he stated. “Don't judge others with harsh words if you are not there to try to improve them. This is the portrait of life. People will say we forgot who we are, we forgot jiu-jitsu. We don't forget anything. We are 100% who we are. We live, eat and breathe what we do”, added Renzo.
Later, Renzo reinforced the fact that Royce has to contribute to the development of the youngest members of the Gracie family, but denied that he would ask him to do so. “A man knows what he has to do. We are born with this privilege. If you're comfortable with your head on the pillow thinking about what you're doing, that's the right thing. But don't judge others. Don't point the finger. I can talk bad about people, because when they need me I'm there. I know how hard they work,” he concluded.
