Bellator 106, held last Saturday (02), in Long Beach, was a milestone for the organization. With three title fights, including the intense battle between Eddie Alvarez and Michael chandler, the event was highly praised by fans and the specialized press. But the show could still have another attraction. Tito Ortiz was injured at the last minute and did not face Quinton Rampage Jackson, in the duel between former UFC champions, which would be the main attraction of the night.

Tito's departure from the fight program generated some speculation in the United States. A rumor that the fighter's injury was faked to withdraw from the PPV card, as sales were lower than expected, was widely circulated. However, Bjorn Rebney, president of the franchise, made a point of denying the possibility.

“I can talk about it. I have the x-ray of Tito's neck, which shows the fracture. The conspiracy must have been so great that they managed to break Tito's neck. This is ridiculous,” he stated. Rebney also assured that Tito Ortiz will fight in Bellator as soon as his neck fracture is healed.

“He will be back. Now we just have to worry about the broken neck he had. She will have to be cured 120%. Once healed, he will come back, because he wants to fight again,” she concluded.
