Daniel Cormier used your program'DC & RC' on ESPN to defend Israel adesanya of criticism that the Nigerian has been receiving for his performance in the fight against Jared Cannonier No. UFC 276 last Saturday (2). The American stated that the athlete won every round, fought an intelligent fight and did not deserve the recent negative opinions.

“I thought he (Adesanya) fought well. He was smart and dominated the fight. He won four rounds to one on both (the judges') cards and then the other card, which was five rounds to zero. What more could you want from a guy defending his belt but winning every round? The problem is, when you become a guy like Israel – Anderson Silva e Jon Jones have gone through the same thing – you become so dominant that those dominant performances become a little lackluster,” Cormier said.

Adesanya was criticized for his passivity in the fight with Cannonier. With strategic play, the champion adopted caution and counterattacked the North American's attempts to keep the belt in the judges' unanimous decision. He, however, was booed by the audience at the T-Mobile Arena.

At 32 years old, Israel reached his fifth defense of the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg.) and, in the history of the category, he is only behind Anderson Silva. Professional since 2015, he has 23 positive results and one negative result.
