Vettori criticizes Adesanya's 'sleepy' fight at UFC 276 and says: 'The category needs a new champion'

'Stoned' by fans after lukewarm performance in victory against Jared Cannonier, Israel adesanya gained a new critic. Victim of the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) twice, Marvin vettori he also didn't like what he saw in the main fight of the UFC 276. On social media, the Italian didn't miss the opportunity to take shots at his old rival.

“The truth is this sh*t was so boring that people left the arena after three rounds. The category needs a new champion and it needs to be quick. Nine weeks from now, I will prove my point. Italy will have its first UFC champion soon”, wrote Marvin, in his account on Twitter.

Current number three in the middleweight rankings, Vettori is scheduled for his first appearance in the 2022 season. On September 3, the fighter will face the former group champion, Robert whittaker. The winner can return to the status of challenger.

Despite Adesanya's 'unsalted' victory last weekend, the Nigerian expanded his legacy in the division. Now, the athlete has five title defenses.
