Linear champion in flyweight (up to 56,7kg.) of Ultimate, Deiveson Figueiredo had a different stance when dealing with the creation of the interim category belt. After public criticism of the organization, the injured athlete changed his tone and spoke calmly about the confrontation between Brandon Moreno e Kai Kara France, which are faced in the UFC 277.
"Everything is fine. This fight will take place at the end of the month. I'll be there to watch, to see the interim champion. After that, in December or January, I will face the winner”, admitted the Brazilian, in an interview with 'The Schmo'.

In his second reign in the flyweight division, Figueiredo is experiencing a new moment in his career. After breaking up with his former businessman, Wallid Ismail, the man from Pará will now be managed by the company 'VaynerSports', headed by the former wrestler Urijah faber.
In January 2022, Deiveson regained the belt in the trilogy against Brandon Moreno. The fighter, however, ended up suffering an injury to his hand and reveals that he is unable to compete again at the current time.
“There are some details I can't talk about. There are documents that should prove how serious my injury is, but they were not properly sent to the UFC. So, they didn't know. (…) I'm going to take this time to take care of my body and be 100% ready to defend my belt as quickly as possible. I can’t wait to fight again”, he concluded.
At 34 years old, Figueiredo has 24 commitments as a professional in MMA. In the sport, the 'God of War' has 21 wins, two defeats and one draw.
