The fight

After a hard start, Kayla landed a 'lone' shot on her rival. The judoka, without any ceremony, used brute force to take down and stay on top in her rival's half guard. Harrison tried to get the mount, but Young stayed glued to the fence to block her opponent's transition. Without wasting time, Kayla went to the back and delivered a 'rain' of punches to her opponent, who was unable to defend herself. Seeing the damage Young was taking, the referee decided to stop the fight.

With a performance that was not remotely reminiscent of his time as a UFC challenger and welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg), Rory McDonald he had a pragmatic performance, and was defeated by the Swede Sadibou Sy in a unanimous decision by the judges. The Canadian tried to use grappling to fight his rival and, despite the defeat, he secured the number 1 position in the tournament's semifinals. The audience at the Overtime Arena, in Atlanta (USA) booed at the end of the fight.

Sadibou Sy won his second victory in the organization's 2022 season and secured himself as the second best fighter in the tournament's semifinals. The Swede now has a record of 11 wins, six setbacks and two draws as an MMA professional.

Explosive. This is the best word to find the performance of Ray Cooper III in front of his 'namesake' Brett Cooper. In the first seconds of the fight, Ray pressed and landed a good combination of blows that made his rival wobble. After realizing that Brett felt it and started to just defend himself, the former champion started an intense blitz of punches, elbows and knees, until the central referee interrupted. Cooper III's categorical victory.

With the victory, Ray stamps his ticket to the semi-finals of the welterweight tournament (under 77,1kg) and gains confidence to regain the title that was once his. Cooper III now has a record of 24 triumphs, eight setbacks and one draw as a mixed martial arts professional.

Another veteran of the sport, Brett feels the bitter taste of defeat again after two consecutive victories. At 35 years old, 'Fudoshin' now boasts an impressive record of 28 positive results and 16 negative results.
