Josh Emmet says Volkanovski will be the greatest in featherweight history if he wins at UFC 276

The top-5 of the category praised the Australian and said that he will become the absolute number 1 in history, in case of another victory over Holloway

Member of the top-5 in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg), Josh Emmett believe that Alexander Volkanovsky is very close to becoming the biggest in the history of the category. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the American stated that if the current owner of the belt wins Max Holloway No. UFC 276, he will be absolute number 1 of all time, in this weight range.

“Yes, how can you not? He beat Aldo and Max Holloway beat Aldo a few times, and if Volkanovski beats Max three times, I mean, look at the guys he fought. He fought my teammate Chad Mendes, and it keeps getting better and better. How can you argue with that, you know what I mean?” Emmett said.

Even showing respect for Max Holloway, Emmett does not believe that the challenger can beat Volkanovski and regain the featherweight belt.

“It's difficult for me to go against the champion. It's difficult for me to go against a champion who has over 20 consecutive victories, someone who is undefeated in the UFC and has beaten all these legends and all-time greats and continues to impress and get better and better,” concluded Josh.
