The discussion about a possible change in the scoring system adopted by the main MMA events today continues to give something to talk about. And, one of the alternatives would be the 'open scoreboard', where athletes would know about the judges' scores at the end of each round.

Star of UFC 276, an event that takes place next Saturday (2), the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.) Alexander Volkanovsky is in favor of the idea. For him, fighters have frequently complained about controversial results and, therefore, could adapt their strategies in fights.

“I don’t care about open scoring. I don't think it's that bad, because you can know if you still have a chance to win the fights or something like that. By having this score out in the open, for everyone to know, you won't have people crying over decisions. I'm tired of people using this as an excuse. At the end of the day, open scoring will help with this, but it shouldn't, because you must have a good enough team to tell you, fairly, whether you are winning or losing rounds. I'm lucky to see victories like this, even if I was in balanced fights”, said Volkanovski, speaking to the television channel Israel adesanya no 'YouTube'.

Alexander was involved in two close fights, against Max Holloway, his opponent in UFC 276. Despite having left with his arms raised in previous clashes, the Australian did not hesitate in accepting another challenge against the Hawaiian for the under-65,7kg belt.
