The first challenge of Lyoto Machida as a middleweight, he was overcome with relative ease. The Brazilian, who had already been showing the evolution of his weight cut through social networks, once again showed off his current physical shape and is already, with a surplus, within the limit of the new category. The athlete's manager, Jorge “Joinha” Guimarães, published, in his Instagram, an image of Lyoto on the scale, hours before the official UFC Fight Night 30 weigh-in.
“Four hours before weigh-in. Easy weight cutting!” wrote Joinha, along with the image. In the photo montage, Lyoto appears visibly thinner than usual and next to it the scale shows the Brazilian's current 84,2 kg. In the middleweight category, the weight limit is 83,9 kg, or 185 pounds. However, in non-title fights, there is a tolerance of 1 pound, or 453 grams.
This Saturday (26), Lyoto Machida faces Mark Muñoz in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 30. The event takes place in the city of Manchester, in the northwest of England. Before the duel, however, this Friday (25), Machida's commitment, as well as that of the other athletes participating in the event, is with the official weigh-in, which begins at 13 pm (official Brasília time).
