Former NFL stars Adrian Peterson and Le'Veon Bell face off in boxing match in July

The recent wave of athletes from other sports facing each other in the boxing ring continues. This time, two of the NFL's biggest recent stars, Adrian Peterson and Le'Veon Bell face off in a heavyweight exhibition duel at an event on July 30th, at the Crypto.com Arena, in Los Angeles, in the United States. The information was initially given by the North American “ESPN”.

This will be the first time both running backs have stepped into a boxing ring. As it is an exhibition fight, however, the duel will not mark the professional debut of the athletes.

The duel between Adrian Peterson and Le'Veon Bell will be part of the preliminary card of the Social Gloves 2 event, organized by youtuber Austin McBroon, who will face fellow youtuber AnEsonGib in the main fight.

Adrian Peterson is considered by many to be one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. A player for the Minnesota Vikings between 2007 and 2016, the running back was named the league's best player in 2012 and named to the NFL's All-Decade Team. Today, at 37 years old, Peterson is without a team and played just four games last season, playing for the Tennessee Titans and the Seattle Seahawks.

Seven years younger, Le'Veon Bell also finds himself without a team after playing eight games last season in the colors of the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The running back rose to prominence playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers between 2013 and 2018, being considered one of the best at the position in his generation.
