Gamrot protagonist electrifying fight and beats Tsarukyan in 'meeting of promises' at UFC Las Vegas 57

Mateusz gamrot e Arman Tsarukyan lived up to their status as protagonists of the UFC Las Vegas 57, event held this Saturday (25). In a fight valid for the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), the fighters fought a disputed and intense confrontation. At the end of five rounds, the Pole won the unanimous decision of the judges and should reach the top 10 in the category.

With that, Gamrot scored his fourth consecutive victory in Ultimate. Now, he has 21 triumphs, one setback and one 'no result' fight.

Tsarukyan, in turn, is suffering his third career defeat – the second in the organization. The Armenian has a record of 18 positive results and three negative results.

The fight

With a smaller wingspan, Tsarukyan started with high and low kicks, in addition to defending Gamrot's takedown attempt. Then he scored a shot from the Pole and put him down. Mateuz, however, made turns and 'scraped' to get into a dominant position on the grid. The fight returned to the feet, with good moments for both athletes, who threw strong kicks in their striking. In the end, Arman managed to get the takedown and attempted a guillotine choke, but chose to just breathe until the end of the round.

In the second round, Arman kicked hard around the waist, but Mateusz didn't seem to feel the blows. However, the Armenian hit the same spot on numerous occasions and saw the Pole 'double', although he was unable to progress in the position.

Gamrot, in the third round, once again proved that he was willing to pursue a grappling fight. Despite this, the Pole stopped at Tsarukyan's good takedown defense, which 'hit and came back' on the platform. Arman chased the disadvantage and marched forward, with good combinations in the short distance.

The fourth round was marked by the plastic spinning punch applied by Tsarukyan, which made Gamrot fall. The Armenian was unable to maintain superiority on top and saw his opponent hit and come back. Smelling blood, Arman still applied his best efforts despite bleeding below his eye. The fighter threw a kick to the waist, but saw the Pole attacking with a takedown, taking him down and looking for the back with a rear naked choke. Mateusz, however, did not adjust his position.

The two athletes did not reduce their intensity in the battle. In the duel that decided the fight, Gamrot gave everything in the confrontation and attempted the takedown on numerous occasions. In his striking, the Pole also seemed more complete and came out with technical dominance in the fight.
