On the 02th of July, Israel adesanya enters into action in search of the fifth defense of the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg) against Jared Cannonier, in the main fight of the UFC 276, in Las Vegas, in the United States. This Tuesday (21), the champion participated in a press conference in Australia to talk about the next challenge.
After winning consecutive rematches against Marvin vettori e Robert whittaker, Israel adesanya celebrated the fact of facing “new blood” in Jared Cannonier. Despite denying underestimating his next rival, the Nigerian assured that he will make the fight “look easy” on the night of July 2nd.

"He (Jared Cannonier) is a very big guy and carries that strength around, so I can't underestimate him. But I don't think it will be the toughest challenge. Honestly, I think I'll make it easy. I truly believe I will make it look easy on July 2nd,” Adesanya said.
Responding to the request for a prediction for the fight, Israel adesanya took the opportunity to needle his rival Paulo borrachinha. The Nigerian stated that Cannonier's outcome will be the same as the Brazilian's, except for one small detail.
"A forecast? I'll give you a prediction. It's going to be fun, it's going to be fun. It's going to look a lot like the fight with (Paulo) Costa, minus the little 'snake' at the end”, joked the champion.
Israel adesanya e Paulo borrachinha faced each other in a duel full of rivalry in the UFC 253, in September 2020. On that occasion, the Nigerian knocked out the Brazilian in the second round, complete with a “rant” that went viral on social media.
