Days away from his historic trilogy against Max Holloway, the Ultimate featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovsky, has bold plans for the future. Star of UFC 276, the Australian stated that, if he beats the former belt owner again in the under-65,7kg division, he wants to test himself in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg.) and seek a second title in the company. The statement was made at a press conference in Australia.

“The third fight against Max is huge. Dana (White, UFC president) even talked about this. After this fight, you want to fulfill my will. I need to at least have the chance to pursue double champion status. I will fulfill the plan and that is what I will ask for next”, said Volkanovski.

An absolute featherweight contender, Alexander will share the octagon with Holloway for the third time in his career. In the first two meetings, the Australian overcame the Hawaiian in confrontations marked by balance.

If you are successful in UFC 276, Volkanovski will expand his great career phase. At 33 years old, the fighter can reach the mark of four belt defenses and add 22 consecutive victories.
