Prochazka opens doors to rematch with Glover, but sees Blachowicz as 'more dangerous' challenger

Less than a week after winning the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg), Jiri Prochazka He has already started thinking about his first steps as a champion and has two options in mind for his near future.

During his appearance on the podcast “MMA Hour”, on the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the new champion pointed out Jan Blachowicz as a “tougher” challenger, but did not rule out the possibility of giving the right to an immediate rematch to Glover Teixeira.

“I don’t know what the UFC’s or the organization’s preference is. I want to communicate more with the UFC and understand what they want from me. I think the most dangerous man in the division below me is Jan Blachowicz. I think he could be the next challenger, but I have to maintain respect for Glover. Another option is to offer Glover a rematch and then face Jan Blachowicz. I have to make a decision, but I need to talk to the UFC and my manager to define the best step”, said the champion.

Something that weighs in favor of Jan Blachowicz, in the view of Jiri Prochazka, is the possibility of a major event on European soil.

“Man, this (facing Blachowicz in Europe) is something that I think about a lot, because I think that for the European public it would be the biggest event in the history of martial arts. He and I, Poland and the Czech Republic, are close countries. I will be ready and I will win. My preference is to have the next fight here in the Czech Republic, but who knows?” concluded the Czech.
