Apparently, the history of featherweight (up to 65,7kg.) Zabit Magomedsharipov in mixed martial arts came to an end. After back and forth about a possible return and without acting since November 2019, the Russian informed the UFC that he is retiring at the age of 31. The information was released by 'MMA fighting'.

Hired by Ultimate in 2017, Zabit achieved a meteoric rise and won six consecutive victories, in dominant fashion, in the most famous octagon in the world. Magomedsharipov was part of the rankings in the division led by Volkanovski, but was removed due to a long period of inactivity.

The Russian was absent from the ring due to a series of injuries and a complicated health problem. His last fight was in November 2019, when he defeated Calvin kattar in the unanimous decision of the judges. The fighter was booked against Yair Rodriguez, but the fight fell through after an injury to his opponent.

He ends his career at the age of 31, with a record of 18 victories – highlights include triumphs against Jeremy Stephens, Kyle Bochniak and Sheymon Moraes – and just one defeat in his career in mixed martial arts. Furthermore, in April this year, Zabit hinted on his social media that he was studying to become a doctor.
