The excess submission over Mike Pierce at UFC Fight Night 29, last Wednesday (09), continues to bring losses to Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares. After the announcement of its UFC dismissal, the Brazilian was also suspended for four months by the Brazilian MMA Confederation (CBMMA). The entity announced the sanction to the former Ultimate fighter through an official note.
VEJA: Watch Toquinho's finish in Pierce
“After careful analysis of the conduct of Rousimar Palhares in his fight, at the 'UFC Fight Night' event held on October 09, 2013 in the city of Barueri (SP), we communicate the athlete's suspension for a period of 120 (one hundred and twenty) days, counting from the end of the period of medical suspension. The determination of the suspension period considers, among other aspects, the athlete's recurrence of an unsportsmanlike attitude of the same nature”, says the statement.

The punishment for Toquinho is valid for events regulated by the CBMMA during the suspension period. Thus, the athlete is not prevented from participating in other international events, as long as they are regulated by other athletic commissions. Last Wednesday (09), on the main card of UFC Fight Night 29, Rousimar Palhares debuted with victory in the welterweight division, but was surprised by his dismissal after the triumph – as punishment for holding on to the submission for too long.

Who is CBMMA? What has she done or does for the sport? Do major national events operate under the auspices of this CBMMA?
Opportunistic attitude. If the UFC had ignored it, the CBMMA would have remained silent and silent, as always.
This is absurd!!!
DEAR FRIENDS, the Brazilian Confederation of Mixed Martial Arts, approved by the Ministry of Sports, has nothing to do with this news. In fact, we wouldn't punish anyone if it weren't through the Sports Justice Court. In fact, we didn't even endorse the UFC event. We at CBMMA.COM.BR are interested in promoting the sport and not getting in the way of anyone. The person who did this idiocy was CABMMA, which was created by the UFC to endorse its events. We believe in justice and not in arbitrary deliberations. If Dana White fired him, he must have his reasons, after all, the UFC is a company. Please kindly change the name when calling CABMMA.
