the trajectory of Rousimar Toquinho in the UFC welterweight division was shorter than expected. The Brazilian needed just 31 seconds to land a tight heel hook and submitted the tough Mike Pierce. But for not releasing the coup as soon as the North American gave up, he ended up being fired from the organization. The announcement was made by Dana White, president of the franchise.

“This is the second incident we have had with Palhares in which he had the key and did not let go. In the end, he finally let go, but I'm going to cut him off. He is fired”, stated the leader who highlighted that Minas Gerais will never fight in the organization again.

Toquinho, who had already lost the night's submission bonus, for not releasing the blow, is a repeat offender within the event. In edition number 111, in March 2011, the black belt also didn't let Tomasz Drwal down. As a result, he was suspended and fined by the organization.

After the victory, Rousimar assured that he did not hold back the blow and defended himself from some criticism in the press room. “I didn’t hold back. As soon as he hit, I let go,” he stated.

I agree. Firing was a bit much. After all, other athletes took a long time to release and there was no capital punishment. Just remember Ferank Mir WHEN HE BROKE THE MONOTAUR'S ARM. Mr. Sonnen, in addition to fighting drugged, crashed and said he didn't crash…. and even won a fight against the shogun. What is the criteria?
