the controversial Chael Sonnen There is one more candidate on his list of opponents: Fabio Maldonado. After defeating Joey Beltran at UFC Fight Night 29, an event held last Wednesday (07), in Barueri, the Brazilian wasted no time in choosing who he would like to measure up in the octagon.
“I wanted to fight with the Chael Sonnen. Everyone will think the game doesn't work, but I wanted to fight with it. A lot of people think he'll be able to tie me up, but I have the game to catch him. Underneath he doesn’t fix anything”, said Maldonado, who immediately praised his rival and mentioned another possible opponent.
“He's a good fighter, he's coming off a victory against a great guy like Shogun.” If it's too much to ask (fight against Sonnen) I want James Te Huna, who is tough and beat Beltran. So put anyone: James Te Huna or Chael Sonnen”, stated Maldonado, who ruled out the possibility of moving down to the middleweight division, but left open the possibility of moving up to the heavyweight division.
“Never lose weight again. It's easier for me to get a fight at heavyweight if they call me 15 days before, I'll fight Mark Hunt, Roy Nelson I think it would be a good fight”, he added.
