Yan Cabral's good debut in Ultimate, with victory over David Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 29, seems to have made the Nova União athlete even more determined. In an interview given after the triumph, this Wednesday (09), Yan commented on the debut in the most famous Octagon on the planet and set the welterweight belt as his main goal.

“My plan is to win the belt one day. Everyone who goes in there is looking for that and it’s no different with me. I know that I still have to train a lot, improve a lot in different areas, different modalities. I can improve my boxing, my ground fighting, my wrestling a lot, but there is a lot to improve. If it hadn't, I would already have the belt. If it hadn’t, I would already have the belt,” said Cabral.

Yan also spoke about the frustration of not being able to finish his opponent, who was also recognized for the quality of his ground game. “I wanted to finish, I always look for the finish. But he defended well. And I kept telling Dedé (Pederneiras): 'It's not working, it's not working'. I managed to fit one katagatame, but he defended well”, he concluded.
