After receiving approval from boss Dana White to hold a competition between technicians with Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson wants confirmation of commitment at all costs. Willing to test his knowledge against his eternal rival, the North American demanded a position from the Russian to make the challenge official. In the octagon, the lightweight icons (up to 70,3 kg) never faced each other, with five fights cancelled.

“Khabib, have you finished your world tour yet? The time has come to face a real coaching challenge. How about a pie-eating contest, chubby? It’s time to make a noise,” Ferguson wrote on social media.

Tony's challenge to Nurmagomedov came days after his tough loss to Michael chandler, UFC 274. The initial idea of 'Bicho Papão' is for athletes to headline an edition of TUF (The Ultimate Fighter). At the end of the program, the combatants would not need to face each other in the octagon.

At first, Khabib showed favor to Ferguson's proposal. The Russian asked the veteran to send his suggestion to Dana White and his team. Upon learning of the 'Bicho Papão' initiative, the Ultimate leader also seemed to like the idea.
