Without fighting for over two years, Joanna Jedrzejczyk can 'jump the queue' in a title fight in the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg) of Ultimate. Aware of the good moment of Marina Rodriguez in the category, the former champion of the group thought it would be useful to mock the Brazilian, who could be 'ignored' by the organization, if the Polish woman wins in the UFC 275. In an interview with 'Combate', the former leader of the division explained her position.

“You need to have incredible fights, 'fights of the year' to get a title shot. It's not just about fighting safe fights. We have to entertain people,” said Jedrzejczyk.

Considered by many to be the best strawweight in MMA of all time, Joanna continued to argue. According to the former champion, Marina Rodriguez is not able to deliver enough to the sports fans to become a challenger.

“There are girls and there are women. When you get to the top 3 in the division, there's me, Weili Zhang and Rose, and it is difficult to overcome this barrier”, he concluded.

Criticized by Joanna, Rodriguez has built a successful career in the UFC. Today, the team from Rio Grande do Sul occupies third place in the group, having won four consecutive victories.

Out of action since the clash against Weili Zhang, in 2020, Jedrzejczyk was removed from the rankings due to her inactivity. Back in the Octagon, the Pole could return to the elite of the category if she wins the long-awaited rematch against the Chinese herself on Saturday.
