Even in a bad phase in his career and having been away from the Octagon for almost a year, Conor McGregor remains the most popular name on the UFC roster and attracts a line of people interested in facing him. Among them is Michael chandler, former challenger for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3 kg), who challenged the Irishman in a resounding manner after his historic knockout over Tony Ferguson No. UFC 274. The North American has a possible important ally in the effort to hold the duel: the president of Ultimate, Dana White.

In an interview with the North American website “TMZ Sports”, Dana White stated that he welcomes the possible duel between Michael chandler e Conor McGregor, but avoided jeopardizing the Irishman’s future.

“I really like the fight between Michael chandler e Conor McGregor after Chandler's last fight. We have a lot of struggles getting married. I don't know if it will be this one. Let's see what the scenario will be like when Conor returns. Conor is eighth in the rankings, Michael is fifth. It makes a lot of sense at the moment,” said Dana White.

If in other times it was believed that Conor McGregor would be ready to return to the octagon in mid-2022, the predictions are now a little more pessimistic. According to Dana White, it is possible that the Irishman will only be ready next year.

“I think he’s improving. He is starting to intensify his training. Hopefully at the end of the year or the beginning of next year,” he concluded.
