Glover Teixeira minimizes Jiri Prochazka's long winning streak: 'He didn't win in the UFC'

Light heavyweight champion states that his challenger's great phase should not be counted within Ultimate

Ultimate light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.), Glover Teixeira minimized his challenger's streak of 12 consecutive victories in the UFC 275. In conversation with the press at 'half day', the Minas Gerais native suggested that the triumphs achieved by the Czech outside of Ultimate should have a different importance. For the company, the opponent has two appearances.

"Is different. His (Prochazka) winning streak is not within the UFC. This series of triumphs is very difficult to achieve when you are in Ultimate. It doesn’t mean much,” Glover said.

Former Rizin champion, Jiri will try to quickly win the belt in the company. If he overcomes Teixeira, the Czech will assume the throne, adding three commitments to the organization.

At 42 years old, Glover seeks to expand his legacy at the company. Champion since October last season, when he defeated Jan Blachowicz, the miner can match Lyoto Machida as the second Brazilian to defend the UFC light heavyweight belt.
