After having one of the best fights of the year against Khamzat Shimaev No. UFC 273, in April, Gilbert Durinho is on the rise with fans and Ultimate, even though he lost the duel due to the judges' decision. Thinking about taking advantage of the good moment, the Brazilian believes it is time to have another “big” fight in the organization and he already has a defined target: Jorge masvidal.
In a recent interview with the program “Unlocking The Cage”, Gilbert Durinho spoke about his desire to face “Gamebred” for the organization’s “BMF” belt.
“I think a big fight that would make sense would be against Jorge masvidal ou Colby covington. I heard that Colby covington won't fight for a while because of the incident between him and Jorge masvidal, but I believe Jorge will be ready soon and that's the fight I want. He has the BMF belt, I am one of the BMFs in the division and we are both coming off defeats”, said the Brazilian.
Jorge masvidal He is one of the most popular names in the UFC, but he is not going through a great phase in the organization, coming off three consecutive defeats. In Durinho's opinion, however, it is important to note who the North American's executioners were.
“If you see, he has some defeats, but they are two for Kamaru Usman, number one weight for weight, and another for Colby covington, number one in the world. So don't take the guy's credit away. I believe he will try to put on a show. I'll try to finish him off and he'll try the same with me. I think it would be a great fight. It’s the fight I want next,” he concluded.
