Last week, Dong Hyun Kim said, in an interview, that he considers himself one of the best wrestlers of the world and that he would even face the welterweight champion Georges St Pierre in Olympic wrestling. The statement, not at all modest, does not bother the South Korean's next opponent, Brazilian Erik Silva. In an interview given in Barueri (SP), this Monday (07), Erik stated that he is not intimidated by Hyun Kim's ground game.

"No way. This is not a concern, because I have a black belt in jiu-jitsu and I have several training partners who are very good too. I've been really enjoying the ground game too and I'm not too worried about that part”, said Erik. The Brazilian also stated that he thinks this type of statement like that of his opponent is normal, because, in his view, fighters always seek comparison with UFC champions.

PUBLICITY:

Erik Silva has a record of 15 wins, three losses and one fight without result. Erik is coming off a submission victory over Jason High at the TUF Brasil 2 Finale, in June. The 29-year-old native of Espírito Santo will face South Korean Dong Hyun Kim in the co-main fight of UFC Fight Night 29, on October 9th, in Barueri (SP). In the main fight of the night, Demian Maia faces the North American Jake Shields.
