Highlight of heavy weights (up to 120,2kg.), Tai tuivasa praised achievements of Jon Jones and cited 'Bones' as the greatest name in the history of mixed martial arts. However, the Australian made a point of criticizing his stance, as well as recalling the North American's controversies outside the Octagon.
“Jones is probably the best MMA fighter of all time. It doesn't matter if he's at light heavyweight or heavyweight. He's still an idiot. You can be the greatest in history, but if you're an idiot, you're still an idiot. Hitting your lady (Jon was accused of hitting his wife) or anything is idiotic. And that's what he is,” said Tuivasa, in an interview with 'The AllStar's Fine Dining with Fighters'.

It does not stop there. Despite having a fight scheduled against Cyryl Gane, in a combat scheduled to take place in September this year, Tai tuivasa expressed willingness to face Jon Jones in the future. The 'Bones' have not played since February 2020 and are rehearsing their debut in the division later this year.
“If I had the opportunity, I would fight him. I do it to say, 'One day, I'm going to fight the champion.' Well, f***, I fought him. Win or lose, maybe I win, maybe I lose, at least I can say I had great experiences. Some guys I beat, some I didn't. That's how I kind of live my life. If I had a chance, of course, I would do it,” he concluded.
Number three in the heavyweight rankings, Tuivasa has been riding an incredible streak of five consecutive victories. Since his last defeat, to Sergey Spivak, in October 2019, the Australian hit in sequence: Stefan struve, Harry Hunsucker, Greg hardy, Augusto Sakai and Derrick Lewis. 'Bam Bam' has a record of 15 triumphs and three setbacks in professional MMA.
