"aljamain sterling challenged him and Aldo accepted immediately, but we need to understand that the rankings decide the next challenger. It is likely that TJ Dillashaw be the next challenger, so we are also listening to other UFC proposals, such as Dominick Cruz, Merab Dvalishvili ou Henry Cejudo, who could return for a fight against Aldo”, said Dedé.

Among the names mentioned, Dedé Pederneiras highlights Henry Cejudo, former division champion, as an ideal opponent for José Aldo.

“It's a great marriage for Aldo, who has one of the best takedown defenses in UFC history and is a much better striker than Cejudo”, analyzed the coach.

After debuting with two consecutive defeats in the bantamweight division, José Aldo scored three consecutive victories and currently occupies third place in the category ranking, behind only TJ Dillashaw, Petr yan and the champion aljamain sterling.
