Businessman guarantees that Islam Makhachev 'can make Charles from the Bronx look like an amateur'

The two fighters even had a fight scheduled to decide who would be the next challenger for the lightweight belt. An injury to Dariush, however, thwarted plans and left the division in disarray. After Charles of the Bronx losing the title due to problems with the scale, Ali Abdelaziz believes that a duel between Makhachev and Dariush no longer makes sense and that one of the two needs to be chosen to fight for the belt.

“One of these guys (Makhachev and Dariush) needs to fight for the title. When the UFC scheduled them to face each other for the challenger position, I agreed. It would be a fight for number one and they would return in July, but Beneil wasn't ready. Now they need to make a decision. Of course I will campaign for both, I will not favor either of them. The UFC doesn't even have a champion. There is no division. How are you going to fight for the number 1 challenger position if Charles Oliveira is already the number 1 challenger?”, argued the businessman.

“I believe they can both finish him off. I think Islam will finish him. I think Beneil can finish him too. Beneil can knock him out and submit him. Islam can definitely finish him and dominate him. Islam can make Charles look like an amateur, for sure. Beneil is a little crazy, he likes to fight, so it would probably be something more wild, but he would catch him and put him to sleep. When you look at the odds, Islam is favorite. Beneil would be a favorite too”, guaranteed Abdelaziz.
