The much talked about rematch between Jon Jones e Alexander Gustafson, speculated after the big fight between the two last Saturday (21), will not happen, at least in the sequence. According to UFC president Dana White, in an interview with the North American channel ESPN, Jones asked that his next opponent be the Brazilian Glover Teixeira. The director also scheduled the title fight for February next year.
“That’s what the champion wants. We will probably have this fight on the Super Bowl weekend card in New Jersey,” said White. The 2014 Super Bowl takes place on February 2, at MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, also in the state of New Jersey. As a result, the UFC event that will host the fight between Jones and Glover should take place on the 1st, possibly at the Prudential Center, in the city of Newark.
The Brazilian Glover Teixeira is currently second in the light heavyweight category rankings, just behind the champion Jon Jones and the last challenger Alexander Gustafson. Glover has been undefeated since 2006 and has a record of 22 wins and just two losses. In five fights as an Ultimate athlete, the Minas Gerais native, from the city of Sobrália, beat Kyle Kingsbury, Fábio Maldonado, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, James Te Huna and Ryan bader.

It would be good to watch Gustafsson vs Glover this year and the winner takes Jones in February…
