Georges St Pierre is scheduled to defend the welterweight belt against John hendricks at UFC 167, an event that takes place on November 16, in Las Vegas. But in addition to worrying about his rival's knockout power, the Canadian has to live with numerous accusations that he fights under the effects of steroids. The champion even offered to have him and Hendricks tested by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA), but the challenger refused.

“Many people accuse me of using steroids. In the past I thought it was because they noticed that I'm very athletic, so I took it as a compliment. But as time went by, I wanted to prove that it was possible to be a world champion without using steroids. I have never used steroids in my life. I wanted to do something good for the honest people of this sport and I wanted to do something for the sport,” GSP told the North American website MMA Fighting. The welterweight champion also revealed that he will pay for his exams to be an example for his fans.

PUBLICITY:

“As champion, I want to be a role model. As an athlete, I want to take the sport to another level when I'm outside the Octagon. I want sport to be more accessible. I think this is the next step. I wanted to raise the level and do something for the sport. I thought Hendricks would do it too, but he changed his mind. I will still do it because I am a man of my word”, added GSP.
