UFC announces first event in Paris on September 3rd

Ultimate's debut in the French capital will have the Accor Arena as its headquarters, but there are still no confirmed fights

This Thursday (19), the UFC officially announced the organization's first event in Paris, the capital of France. Ultimate arrives at the Accor Arena on September 3rd, with tickets going on sale from June 23rd.

The UFC has not yet announced any fight for its debut in the “City of Lights”, but last Wednesday (18), Marvin vettori e Robert whittaker They revealed, on social media, a verbal agreement to face each other at the event.

After banning MMA in 2016, France finally legalized the sport in 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic, however, delayed the UFC's plans to debut in the European country.

Recently, Bellator held two events at the Accor Arena, in Paris, both with Cheick Kongo in the main fights. In the most recent one, on May 6th, the Frenchman was surpassed by Ryan bader in a duel for the organization's heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg).
