Even without shine in the technical knockout victory over Aleksandar rakic, achieved after a knee injury to the Austrian, Jan Blachowicz believes he deserves the opportunity to fight for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg.). Protagonist of UFC Las Vegas 54, held this Saturday (14), the Pole asked for the chance to challenge the winner of the fight between Glover Teixeira e Jiri Prochazka.

“I hope the UFC gives me another title shot. I will be the next (challenger). I'm number one (in the rankings) and Rakic was third. For me, it is obvious that the next challenger would emerge from the winner of this fight”, said Blachowicz, in a press conference after the event.
Former light heavyweight champion, Jan had his first fight since being dethroned by Glover Teixeira No. UFC 267. On that occasion, the Pole ended up submitted by the Brazilian in the second round.
The new 'king' of the category, the Brazilian has a date for his first title defense. The athlete tries to stay at the top of the division in the face of dangerous Jiri Prochazka, in an event that takes place on June 11th.
Moments before Blachowicz's presentation, Teixeira used social media to send a message to his former rival. The Minas Gerais native wished the athlete luck and said he would give the Pole a rematch if he beats the Czech in the UFC 275.
