Considered one of the most promising athletes on the Ultimate roster, bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) Sean O'Malley has plans to become the organization's biggest star, bigger even than Conor McGregor. According to “Suga”, the next step towards his goal is a knockout victory over the Brazilian Peter Munhoz.

Sean O'Malley and Peter Munhoz face each other in UFC 276, on July 2nd. During his participation in the “MMA Hour” podcast, on the North American website “MMAFighting”, the North American pointed to the Brazilian as the biggest challenge of his career, but he did not miss the opportunity to provoke.

“I think it makes sense. We both fight on the same card. It's a good step. You look at his losses and they were to former world champions: Dominick Cruz, José Aldo, Frankie Edgar. He doesn't lose to anyone. I think 'Pedro Preliminares' is real. He is my toughest opponent yet, without a doubt. He knocked out cody garbrandt, but also who didn't knock him out? But yes, Pedro Preliminaries will be my toughest fight, for sure,” said O'Malley.

In the UFC since 2017, Sean O'Malley has seven wins in eight fights in the Octagon, but receives a lot of criticism for, theoretically, not seeking a higher level of competition. For the North American, a possible victory over Peter Munhoz is the next step on the path to becoming the biggest star in the MMA world.

PUBLICITY:

“There’s no one doing it the way I’m doing it. Nobody does it the way I'm capable of doing it. I just have to go out there, win these fights and make my own way, the way Conor did. I think Izzy (Adesanya) is doing a great job, being a super active champion. Kamaru also does a great job. Obviously I want to be bigger than them, just like they want to be bigger than me and Conor and anyone. Wanting to be bigger than Conor may seem silly now, but if I go out there and knock out Pedro, knock out Chito Vera, knock out whoever is the champion, then I will be the champion and I will be very close to it. Conor had a crazy time with José Aldo, Chad Mendes and all these fights, the fights with Nate diaz. I have to go out there and have those fights too to be that big and I'm totally capable of that. I’m 27 years old, I’m a f***ing animal and I’m excited to get in there and prove it against Pedro Preliminares”, he concluded.
