The injury that took T.J. Grant out of the fight against Ben henderson will make the Canadian lose another title fight. Expected to face the new champion Anthony Pettis at UFC on FOX 9, in December, Grant announced that he will not recover in time and withdrew from the dispute. For his place in the confrontation, Ultimate announced the North American Josh thomson, who currently occupies fifth place in the lightweight rankings.

Josh thomson, 34 years old, has a record of 20 wins, five losses and one fight without result. The former Strikeforce champion recently made his UFC debut with a victory over Nate diaz. Already Anthony Pettis has a record of 17 wins and just two defeats. On August 31st, the former WEC champion won Ben henderson, the same rival as the one who took the belt from the extinct organization, to win the UFC lightweight title.
