The victory of the current UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman about Anderson Silva in July it remains one of the main sporting events of the year. According to the newspaper “New York Post”, this Sunday (15), coach Tom Coughlin showed the video of the UFC 162 fight to the New York Giants players before the game against the Denver Broncos, valid for the second round of the NFL (league of American football).

According to the publication, the coach used the fact that Weidman, born in the state of New York and a Giants fan, was considered the underdog before the fight and had beaten the favorite Anderson Silva – in one of the most surprising victories in Ultimate history. The result, however, does not seem to have had the effect Coughlin expected. His team ended up defeated by the Broncos 41 to 23 – a score that can be translated as a “rout” in our football.

Chris Weidman faces Anderson Silva again on December 28th, in the main fight of UFC 168, to perhaps become an even greater example for athletes from other sports. The American defended his title for the first time again against the former champion, in one of the most anticipated rematches in Ultimate. The event takes place on the same stage as the first meeting between the two: the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA).
