American James Irvin admitted, in an interview with Warrior Fight Store, that he wants to face the Brazilian Wanderlei Silva. The American is coming off a nine-month suspension by the Athletic Commission for using methadone and Oxymorphone, but is eager to fight again:
“My suspension ends on April 19th. I want to fight in the first event after April. I would love to fight Wanderlei Silva. I want to go to middleweight so bad. There are a lot of guys there that I really want to beat,” said the American, who pins Wand. “I fought against Anderson Silva, which I find much scarier than Wanderlei. I have nothing against Wanderlei, I just want to fight the best. I don't want to fight worse. Every time I fight I'm going to ask him to be a top 10 guy”, he adds.
