Brazilian representative on the main card of UFC Las Vegas 53, an event held this Saturday (30), Joanderson Brito, the ‘Tubarão’, got the job done. The Brazilian athlete achieved a sensational knockout over André Fili and won his first victory in the Ultimate Octagon.

Discovered in the 'Contender Series', an event promoted by Dana White in search of new talents, Tubarão recovered from the bitter defeat in its debut, against Bill Algeo, by points. The Brazilian, who began his journey as a professional in 2013, also revealed that his uncle passed away hours before his fight and he had to overcome a 'personal drama' to compete. In his career, there are 12 triumphs, three setbacks and one unsuccessful fight.
Fili is now at risk of entering the 'RH' from the company. In his last three fights, there were two defeats and one 'no result' fight, having accumulated a general record of 21 positive results, nine negative results and one 'no contest'.
The fight
Tubarão was brilliant in its presentation. The Brazilian started the fight by taking the initiative, with low kicks to repel Fili's approach. Then, he connected with a brutal right cross that made Andre fall, in addition to needing a sequence of sleep punches before the central referee interrupted.

Grant Dawson asserts favoritism, shows quality and submits Jared Gordon
Promise of lightweights (up to 70,3kg.), Grant dawson entered into combat against Jared gordon willing to show that he can be among the best in the division in the future. In a 15-minute fight, the North American played an adjusted game that combined striking and a strong wrestling game to win with a rear naked choke in the third round.
In a post-fight interview, still in the octagon, Dawson asked for growth in the lightweight division and highlighted the good moment in the company.
“The last time I lost a fight, Barack Obama was president. I am one of the most underrated fighters in the UFC, because I keep winning and I don't have my appreciation”, said Grant.
With that, Dawson fights his tenth fight without knowing what it's like to lose. The talented fighter reached the mark of 18 wins, four losses and one 'no contest' in his career. Meanwhile, Gordon failed in his mission to surprise in the duel and now loses for the fifth time; he also has 18 triumphs.
Darren Elkins suffers, goes from hell to heaven and defeats Tristan Connelly in a bloody fight

Ultimate veteran, Darren Elkins entered the octagon of UFC Las Vegas 53 with the intention of winning again in the franchise. On the main card of the night, the fighter overcame Tristan connelly in a dramatic fight decided by points. The duel was valid in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg).
Elkins returns to winning ways and recovers from tough knockout against Cub swanson. The North American has a record of 27 positive results and ten negative results. Connelly has not yet managed to leave with 'arms raised' in the under-65,7kg division. The Canadian has a record of 14 wins and eight negatives.
Krzysztof Jotko confirms good form and surpasses Gerald Meerschaert on points

In the first fight on the main card, Krzysztof Jotko confirmed the good phase and overcame Gerald meerschaert in the unanimous decision of the judges. The Pole played an intelligent game and imposed his game pace throughout the three rounds, celebrating the victory in the final stretch of the duel.
Jotko now has his fifth victory in the last six fights in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg). Professional since 2010, he has a record of 23 positive results and five negative results.
Meerschaert, who has the nickname 'Machine', feels the taste of defeat again after a run of three victories. The North American has a record of 34 victories and 15 setbacks in his career in mixed martial arts.
