Experiencing a unique moment in his career, after losing two fights in a row for the first time as a professional, Maurício “Shogun” Rua already knows who his next opponent is in Ultimate: James Te Huna. According to the Daily Telegraph website, the Brazilian will face the New Zealander at UFC Fight Night 33, in December.
Shogun, who was very close to returning to challenge for the light heavyweight belt, was defeated by Alexander Gustafson in December last year and, more recently, by Chael Sonnen on August 17th. The Brazilian has a record of 21 wins and eight losses. His opponent James Te Huna has a record of 16 wins and six losses. In his last fight, on May 25th, the New Zealander was finished by Glover Teixeira.
UFC Fight Night 33 takes place on December 6th (December 7th in Oceania), in Brisbane, Australia. In the main fight of the night, and the only clash announced for the event besides Shogun vs Te Huna, Brazilian Antônio “Pezão” Silva faces New Zealander Mark Hunt, in a fight valid for the heavyweight category.
