Flyweight champion, Brazilian Juliana Velasquez makes weight and confirms title defense at Bellator 278

Everything is fine for the main fight of Bellator 278, which takes place this Friday (22), in Honolulu, Hawaii (USA). Protagonist of the show, flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) Juliana Velasquez had no problems with the scales and secured her belt defense against Liz Carmouche. Confirmation of the clash took place this Thursday (21), at the official weigh-in for the show.

Undefeated in her MMA career and seeking her second title defense, the Brazilian champion went through the assessments with ease. The athlete scored 56,6kg.

Former challenger for the bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) and flyweight belts in the UFC, Liz Carmouche is trying to fulfill her dream of holding a belt in Bellator. A veteran in the sport, the athlete gained the same 56,6kg. of the owner of the title.

Inserted in a confrontation that promises to divide Brazilian hearts, Weber Almeida and Fabrício Franco also fulfilled their commitments. While the first weighed 65,8kg, his compatriot weighed 66kg.
