“It’s a long journey. When I entered 2013 and had my first defeat, I was pretty shaken. Even though my mind thought that this wasn't for me, I had people by my side supporting and encouraging me not to give up. Then, when I came back, I was convinced that I wasn't going to leave the company anytime soon. I'm managing to do this. Nine years in the UFC and a lot of learning. Before joining, I had spent two years in Brazil and knew almost nothing. Everything I learned was inside. The evolution was all here and the story I built was beautiful. I hope to continue for another ten years and improve more and more”, said Bate Estaca.

The former champion believes that she should be able to compete for the belt, if she wins next Saturday (23), and even set a possible date for the dreamed confrontation.

“She is tenth in the rankings, but she is one of the toughest and is tipped to fight for the belt in the future. A great opportunity to get very close to the title shot. There will even be a fight between Weili (Zhang) and Joanna (Jedrzejczyk) and whoever wins could be a good opponent for me. By the end of the year, I have the chance to fight for the belt”, said Jéssica.

Aware of the difficulties she will encounter next Saturday, Jéssica explained Amanda lemos and revealed his strategy for the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 51.

“Amanda is very tough. Very strong punches and she has a good counterattack. My game is wonderful for her. I'm the one who always goes up and doesn't back down, but I'm very aware of this style. She changes her base a lot and I studied a lot to do something different. Five rounds in Las Vegas which is totally different. Whoever fights here goes anywhere. She left Belém, which is very humid in Brazil and there is no humidity at all. Plan well and study hard. Let her come and sabotage the momentum so that in the third round onwards she can finish or knock her out. I don’t want to leave it to the judges”, concluded the former champion.
