Upon stepping into the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 28, Ronaldo Jacare was one of the last hopes of the Brazilian public present at Ginásio do Mineirinho – which had already witnessed one of the nights with the highest number of defeats for the country's athletes in events in Brazil. And Jacaré did not disappoint the fans, with a merciless knockout in the first round.
After a studied start to the fight, Jacaré managed to land a good blow on Okami, who went to the ground and then received a sequence of punches that almost ended the fight. After a surprising recovery from the Japanese, Jacaré once again managed to knockdown with a straight right and finished the fight in the middle of the first round with a few more punches to the fallen opponent.
Now, Jacaré has two victories since debuting in Ultimate and is already positioning himself as one of the main names in the middleweight category. In his career, the former Strikeforce champion has a record of 19 wins, one fight without result and just three defeats. The Brazilian has not lost a fight since 2011, when he was defeated by Luke Rockhold. Since then, Jacaré has had five consecutive victories.
