The historic rematch between Patrick Pitbull e A. J. McKee, which brought the Brazilian back to the top of Bellator's featherweight division (up to 65,7kg), may not have a trilogy. The Potiguar's triumph last Friday (15) left the dispute tied between the athletes, but, according to Scott Coker, president of the company, a new meeting is not guaranteed. In a press conference after the company's last event, the 'big boss' analyzed the situation.

“As much as we want to see a new fight, we’ll see how it goes. If the parties want, we will promote (the trilogy), but nothing is guaranteed,” said Coker.
No Bellator 277, Patrício climbed into the circular cage to try to regain the belt he lost almost a year ago, when he was submitted by McKee himself. The Brazilian did not have an easy life, but after 25 minutes of balanced fighting he was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges.
With the victory, Pitbull lived up to his reputation for doing well in rematches within MMA. The Potiguar has never been bettered in a reunion with an opponent.
Aside from losing the title in his first defense, McKee has more to regret. The stumble against the Brazilian marked the first negative result in the American's career.
Moments before Scott's statement, AJ surprised by stating that he does not want a rematch at featherweight. The fighter revealed that the trilogy could be promoted among the lightweights (up to 70,3kg), as he does not intend to be part of a severe weight cut.
