Responsible for the anticlimax of Bellator 277, Corey anderson is in a hurry to confirm his rematch against Vadim nemkov. In a press conference after the show last Friday (15), the North American stated that he will wait for the contract for a new title fight in the light heavyweight category (up to 93kg). The fight against the champion was interrupted after an unintentional headbutt caused a deep cut that made it impossible for the champion to continue in the fight.

“I want the rematch as soon as possible. (…) I'm sure they will try to postpone it as long as possible, even until 2023, but I hope not. I want the reunion so I can get the money and move on. (…) I know that I am the champion. You can say what you want, but you saw what happened in 15 minutes. The first round was balanced, but the two in the sequence have no way of scoring for him (Nemkov). I am the champion,” he assured.
No Bellator 277, Anderson wasn't just competing for the light heavyweight belt. The former UFC fighter was also fighting for the US$1 million (around R$4,7 million) check, given to the champion of the division tournament.
With the anticlimax in the co-main fight, which ended in a 'no contest', the Grand Prix remains without a winner. Therefore, the award was not given to any of the athletes either.
According to the rule, as the confrontation ended ‘without a winner’, Nemkov continues with the category title.
