Ultimate arrives in Milwaukee, this Saturday (31), for an event that promises to be hot. UFC 164 features as its main attraction the fight for the lightweight belt, where the champion Ben henderson puts the title on the line in front of Anthony Pettis. The clash marks the rematch between the athletes. In the first fight between them, which took place in 2010, in the last edition of the now-defunct WEC, Pettis surprised Bendo and took his rival's belt.
Now, after winning the UFC title, Henderson wants to avoid any surprises. “I'm prepared. Everyone talks about what they want to do to me, but I'm going to let my actions speak for me,” said the champion.
In turn, Pettis, who ended the fight against Ben with a sensational kick – using the fence as support – does not hide the pride he feels for the blow, but guarantees that he has other weapons to, once again, take the title from his opponent.
“It’s one of the moments I’m most proud of. The kick is always in videos of MMA's best moments. But I have much more than that. I'm not just that kick and I want to show that. It was an incredible moment, the last moment of a title fight, something that doesn't happen often,” he said.
Only Brazilian
The UFC 164 fight program will only have one Brazilian in action. In the last fight on the preliminary card, Gleison Tibau from Rio Grande do Norte faces American Jamie Varner and hopes to be among the top 10 in the lightweight category if he wins.
