Defender of talent Khamzat Shimaev, Dana White couldn't be happier after the big 'pupil' battle in UFC 273. Excited about the athlete's performance in the 'war' against Gilbert Durinho, the 'boss' of Ultimate did not hold back in his praise for the company's new star. In a press conference after the show this Saturday (9), the president opened up about the epic fight.

“It’s one of the most incredible fights I’ve ever seen, one of the coolest I’ve ever witnessed. The arena was noisy, people went crazy. That fight shined as a main or co-main fight all week,” White said.
After analyzing the match as a whole, White went on to talk about Chimaev's performance and moment. Impressed by another great performance from the 'pupil', the president was full of praise.
“When was the last time you saw a guy arrive out of nowhere, nobody knew who he was. Afterwards, he has a few fights and, subsequently, faces the number two in the welterweight rankings (up to 77kg), and wins. When you get into the UFC top 5, it's no joke, especially in this category. In the division, there are only 'assassins'. He passed the test. (…) He looked at a guy like Gilbert Durinho, who felt completely disrespected during the week. (…) He (Chimaev) is human, but if you think he’s not all that, he’s out of his mind,” he concluded.
This weekend, Khamzat reached the milestone of five appearances with the Ultimate gloves. In addition to overcoming hard, the fighter extended his unbeaten run in his career, reaching 11 victories in a row. The clash against Gilbert, however, represented the first time that the Swede did not win via the fast track.
