Tenth place in the UFC lightweight rankings, Rafael dos Anjos has an important duel this Wednesday, when he will step into the octagon to face the American Donald Cerrone, number six on the list. Coming from four consecutive victories, the Rio native believes that a significant victory will bring him very close to his biggest goal.
This Monday, the day before the weigh-in, Dos Anjos spoke about what he expects from the fight:
“I'm in tenth place and he's in sixth. I think a significant victory will make a good difference,” Rafael told Combate.com. “I'm coming to this fight to win, I don't want to leave it in the hands of the judges, I don't want to do an even fight. I want to fight to win with conviction. And a victory over him will put me in a much better position, it will be a big step forward. And it will be the fifth victory in a row and, for sure, I will be there wanting my chance. I want to fight for the belt in this category and be one of the first Brazilians to reach the top in this division.
Rafael dos Anjos e Donald Cerrone will be the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 27, an event that will be led by a rematch between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann. The card will be played in the city of Indianapolis, in the United States.
